Crystalline Privative Opulence, a composition for guitar, electronics, clarinet, bass clarinet and alto flute, marks the solo debut of guitarist and composer, Andrew Hock (Psalm Zero, ex-Castevet). Inspired by the music of Henryk Gorecki and Gyorgy Ligeti, the regal melancholy of his favorite seminal second-wave of black metal records, the work of ambient composers Eliane Radigue and William Basinski, the churning, pulsing fervor of Brighter Death Now and the polyrhythmic guitar work found on King Crimson’s, Discipline, Crystalline Privative Opulence is an exploration of the space in which these influences co-exist.
